Sunrise Service
Since 1940 an Easter sunrise service has been sponsored by San Felipe UMC and has been held at the Stephen F. Austin Historical Park. Ministers from San Felipe, Sealy, Pattison, Brookshire, and other surrounding areas participate in this celebration. It is for all Christians and all are invited to attend each year. Florence Boyd coordinated the services for many years until illness prevented her from attending in 2004. She passed away on March 22, 2006. For the last few years Mrs. Becky Weber has taken over this commitment for her family.
